2011 Rugby World Cup - RWC 2011 NEW LAWS

At RWC 2011, we will see a number of the experimental laws come into full-effect.

Please familiarize yourselves with these new laws.

NEW LAWS

i. FIRST OF HIS SIDE, is the player nearest the ball on his side. Unless a note has been procured from the Head of the IRB, this player is to be, at all times during the match, by Rugby Law, R.McCaw of New Zealand.

ii. INFRINGEMENT AT RIGHTS TO BALL, violation of rule i. is punishable by a free kick (To New Zealand).

iii. OFF SIDE/a. No player being off his side shall kick the ball. (McCaw doesn't really kick it that much anyway).

iv. OFF SIDE/b. No player being off his side shall hack, charge, run in, touch the ball in goal, or interrupt a match. That McCaw is a real interruption though, isn't he. Haha.

v. OFF SIDE/c. A foreign player touching the ball while off his side must retreat to under his own posts and perform 200 Jumping Jacks. I'm watching.

vi. TOUCH. A player may not in any case run with the ball in or through touch. Don't be bloody stupid. Put it down and go and stand under your own goalposts and have a wee bit of a think about things for a while. Everything alright at home?

vii. DRAWS. All matches are drawn after five days, but after three if no goal has been kicked.

viii. FUSS. Captains are the sole arbiters of all disputes. (Did I mention referees have been phased out altogether?)

ix. GOALS. No strangers, in any match, may have a place kick at goal. Bit of common sense, please.

x. RUCKING. Rucking above the neck is expressly forbidden.

xi. UNIFORM. Nobody may wear a scarf or cap while playing without written permission from matron.
